8. How do you find the y-intercept of a rational function? Does this need to be done in the original or simplified equation?
To find the y-intercept of a rational function, you must plug in zeroes for all the x's of the equation and solve. This will give you either one or none y-intercept. You should plug in the zeroes into the simplified equation to make the solving process easier and faster. You may plug in the zeroes into the original equation and get the same answer, but for our brain's sake, use the simplified equation.
