Student Video #3: Unit H Concept 7

• What is this video about?
• This video goes over a problem in Unit H Concept 7, finding logs with given approximations.  In this problem, we factor the big number into numbers that correspond to the approximations. then, we expand the logs and substitute them with the variables and simplify.
• What does the viewer need to pay special attention to in order to understand the concept?
• You must pay attention to the factoring of the big number.  Sometimes, you do not have to factor all the way to the prime numbers.  You  factor until the numbers in the approximations show up (in this problem, it would be 6, 10, & 5).
• You must also pay attention to whether you are multiplying or dividing.  When multiplying your answer will have addition, when dividing there must be a subtraction sign somewhere in the answer.
