- What is this problem about?
- This problem goes over Unit K Concept 10, writing a repeating decimal as a rational number using geometric series. We are not using a calculator in this problem. We are converting the repeating decimal into a fraction (rational number).
- What must the reader pay close attention to in order to not make a mistake?
- The reader must remember the geometric series equation which is "a sub 1 divided by 1 minus r."
- We also must remember to cancel out the denominator by dividing it by its reciprocal. Doing this, we must multiply the numerator by the reciprocal also, and this will give us our answer.
- REMEMBER TO SIMPLIFY THE FRACTION!
